I definitely do not plan on buying the band that goes with my ring.  I’ve fallen in love with a different band that, like you said, doesn’t match but complements my ring.

I think the different vendor/quality issue is only an issue if you make it one.  Like you said, you love your engagment ring.  As long as you find a wedding band that you love just as much (solo and with your engagment ring), then I think that’s all that matters.

@prisigtr:  Does it say in the report what color your diamonds are in your e-ring? I know BN lists the average quality and color of the diamonds so you can compare. I think BN usually does G-H-I for wedding bands.

BN has an excellent return policy so don’t worry there. I haven’t heard anything bad about them ever. I have a ring from there, and their customer service is amazing.. I would not hesitate to buy.

@prisigtr:  The color and clarity of my engagement ring and wedding bands are different however it is not noticeable to the naked eye.  If you find a ring on blue nile that you really like you might want to check out the specs and go to a brick and mortar jeweler that has a similar quality diamond wedding band to try next to your e-ring and see the effect yourself.

As far as Blue Nile goes, I have never purchased jewelry from them but my mom has, specifically diamond earrings and they are gorgeous.  She paid a great price for beautiful studs (I think they were 1 carat each).  They came with a GIA cert., boxed nicely and arrived very soon after she ordered them.

One thing you might want to pay mind to is, some of the BN wedding bands look very thin.  I have big fingers (size 9.5) so I found the bands that went with my e-ring to be way too thin for my finger.  If you have smaller fingers/hands then they might be perfect for you.

Make sure you keep us posted on what ring you decide on! Good Luck!  Smile

@prisigtr:  I think you will be absolutely fine with a BN wedding band. Just make sure it’s the same type of metal. The diamonds will look very similar. They won’t make your engagement ring look yellower or anything (H-I is near colorless). Even if the wedding band had D color diamonds I doubt you’d notice too much difference unless you’re getting gigantic diamonds in the band (like those crazy thick $30,000+ bands BN has).

Our BN experience was fine. Our bands are from there. My rings look nothing alike, and it doesn’t both me! I thought it might because there’s a gap, but I don’t really care.

Your e-ring is very similar to mine, and I had a REALLY hard time finding a ring I liked to match… But I ended up finding that one of the Vera Wang rings worked great.  My engagement ring was from a different store and the diamons are different quality (although still somewhat similar)

Excuse the dirtiness of my rings, beach/salt/sweat dont mix with shiny diamonds. lol

Just because it’s a set doesn’t mean that it’s perfect for the e-ring. Sometimes another band from another company or seller is the “perfect” match!I have a ring that is two tone with diamonds so it looks “silver”on top but it’s gold underneath, and I think I will be using the gold band that I already own. It’s not a set and probably doesn’t match, but it’s what I want. So to me, it’s perfect!

My engagement ring is completely different from my wedding set. My engagement ring came from a pawn shop, with a wild story to it. And both blue diamond rings came from 2 different stores about 2 years apart in Aruba. And my blue diamond band will a match my engagement ring also. So all can work if you look around.
