I recently decided to upgrade my wedding bands from two .25 carat yellow gold channel set bands to two 1 ct white gold prong set bands to go with my princess cut solitaire for a bit more bling. I made this decision after trying on a number of different bands and sets and this set made me grin ear to ear so I purchased them.
I decided not to have them resized just yet so I could wear them a few days to make sure I liked the change from a flush consistent look to something more blingy. My husband likes them and I like the fact that I can wear them all together or wear one of the bands alone.
They will have less of a gap once i get the bands sized correctly but I wanted to get some opinions. Do you like this set? Is the mismatch too awkward?

@pcbruin: it looks good to me, I have a mismatched band and e-ring…my e-ring is white gold and the band is rose gold.

@pcbruin: I love it! I went the same direction with mine. One of the things I love is that I can wear them three different ways! And of course, lots of bling!

If you and your husband like them that’s all that really matters. Very pretty!

So in my obsessive state over my new wedding band, I discovered that I like 5 stone rings. This is my latest pick. I tried to make the pic smaller. Sorry.
Thoughts? Does this still give me a bling factor without being bulky?
Does anyone have 5 or 7 stone bands to share with their solitaires?

I prefer the bling of the first ring. The second look is also very pretty but doesn’t shout out BLING to me. lol
Seriously, both looks are beautiful. You have great taste!

Your set looks fine to me. Then again, I have a white gold ering and a yellow gold and a platinum wedding rings

Beautiful rings! Your set works great! 🙂

I like the first picture better, especially because you said it made you grin ear to ear when you put them on. 🙂 Do whatever makes YOU happy. If you love the extra bling, go for it!

I have a white gold engagement ring. I originally wanted yellow gold, bit liked the diamonds with the white gold. I really want a tule low gold wedding band, but I am not suhoo about not matching. I have used a cheap gold (colour) costume ring to see what it would look like, but not sure if it will look right with 18carat yellow gold. Anyone htho pics of this combo?

I love you bees for your honesty! Although I adore the bling of the first set, I can’t get over the awkwardness. They look a little clunky to me. It may be the size since they are two 1 carat bands with my 1.5 ct center stone.
I love the second one because the 1ct 5 stone allows you to clearly see the diamonds. They are also Leo diamonds so they are quite sparkly.
However, if I’m still asking opinions, then I must not be 100% sure. I really like the single band, because it looks dainty and defintely more bling than my original two channel set .25 ct bands. But maybe its not quite perfect. Is there a such thing as perfect? Unless I get something custom made. Or reset my ering. But I’m just not ready to do that. My ering is the exact ring I wanted and received.
@MrsBVD2B I think your your set is beautiful. I’ve definitely been into the mixed metal look. If you found a thinner band I think you would not notice the mismatch so much. Also, 18k yellow gold is more yellow than 14k. That may minimize the difference as well. The second pic I posted is 14k yellow ering and white gold band and I don’t think it’s that big of a difference. Good luck!
@Stargaze31 I adore your set! If I was starting all over, I would definitely look for something similar.

Fiance & I had stabilizer balls added to my e-ring, and while we were at the jeweler, we looked at wedding bands I fell in love w/a not so matchy-matchy eternity band (I’ll be getting 75% eternity). It’s a microprong setting, like my e-ring, but its diamonds are bigger. It will be about .70 carat, G color, VS2. I am in loooove. I took a quick pic at the jeweler, and it’s on my pinky since they only had a size 4 in stock. There’s also a tiny, itty bitty gap that I adore. I thought a gap would drive me wild, but I love it!
