@Mr. Coffee: HAHA! Ok that last comment really had me start to giggle.

Maybe she has an over-sized college t-shirt or something?

That might be a tad more appropriate (and comfortable) than one of her bras… just a thought.

Mr.Coffee- Haha that’s what you have to do, just ignore it. I am going to just not even pay attention to the negative people, maybe if we all start doing this then it will stop, or if it doesn’t oh well, at least it’s being ignored.

1. How long can you ‘properly’ function without your partner PHYSICALLY in your daily life?

6+ months. He’s in the marine corps–I better be able to do it without him. (on a super exciting side note–he’s coming home in less than 2 weeks!!!!!! ahhh!!!!1!)

2. What (if any) behavioral changes does your partner go through when your away for a long time?

Plenty. After a deployment vs. after a training mission there are different changes, and people are always changing. Sometimes you just forget about your routine. You have to be adaptable, and open to change. It can actually be a very good thing.

3. What (if any) behavioral changes do YOU go through when your away from your partner for a long time?

Same thing as #2. Things change a little. Reestablishing our dinners at night is the hardest one for me, but I am so much healthier when I’m cooking dinner for him. 🙂

Mr.Coffee- Haha I don’t know if you want to do that, that might be uncomfortable for you. I agree if she has an oversized sleep shirt or college shirt or something that would be more comfortable.

Wow some people need to pull the big ol stick out of their a$$! Loosen up people and laugh a little more!

How long can I function without FI?

I miss him terribly but I can function pretty well by keeping myself busy with visiting friends/family/house chores/work. As long as I know he is ok!

What changes does Fiance go through?

Well he becomes very ‘domestic’ and cleans a bunch more. He also plays more video games! He calls me if I am away for business and we talk for a long time at night while we watch the same program on tv, just like we were watching it together in the living room!

My husband was away on business earlier this week for a few days. I take a whiff of one of his colognes (sniff the bottle) sometimes while he’s gone. This time I didn’t, but I have before. I also sleep in his t-shirts sometimes.

We chat a lot and email and text so that helps!

We are together every day/weekend so it is hard for us to be apart, even just a few days or a week. But the time does go faster than you think!

1) A month  -Longest time we were apart was one month, one time. After a week, I was miserable!

2) Not sure what behaviorial changes for him…I know he misses me, though!

3) I have trouble sleeping and I’m scared to sleep. I keep a light on downstairs in the kitchen so as to look like somebody is home and awake. 🙂

… wow, I’ve gotten alot of flack for pointing out that joking about a fiancee leaving is not something to joke about. I hope none of you ever have to to be there when a friend’s fiancee leaves, internet friend or otherwise. We’ve had board members in the past deal with something like that and WB is one of the first places they came to (several times) and the community as a whole rallied around them and supported them. Clearly non of you have been around long enough to actually see that happen, but I hope none of you actually deal with a post like that because when it’s real, it’s not a joking matter.

@KMSull: I have been here for 1.5 years. I have seen those posts. I still have no clue where you’re coming from.

@OttawaBride2011 There have been at least 2-3 that I remember in the year and couple of months that I’ve been around.

@KMSull: All we’re trying to say is that we’re here for each bee and their unique situation. If Miss Coffee truly had decided to leave Mr Coffee or if she was going off to boot camp and he needed our support, we would give it to him. Right now he’s trying to see how other bees cope with similar situations and we’re supporting him just as we would support anyone else.
