    I wear my hair natural as well and I tried: Miss Jessie and Carol’s Daughter. My hair would feel gummy regardless the amount I used.  Plus I hated to spend the $$$ as well as spend time in the shop I’m a yoga buff so I wash/wet my hair almost daily.  I started using a light conditioner from Aubrey Organics as a daily mixed w/ almond oil.  I Did that for about a yr.  Now I use straight almond oil.  Aubrey Organics once a wk.  I was also using a light texturizer every 4-6 months.

    When I started my natural phase, I had a short curly crop.  Now my hair is past my shoulders. I met my Fiance a yr ago and it was a bob and I haven’t cut it since because of the wedding.

    Hope this helps.  Need more info, let me know.

    I am in Japan now so I can’t get ahold of either to try. The only product I can get her is Deva curl. I bought the big Conditioner for $35, big gel $35, $15 for this spray bottle refresher all were purchased 8 months ago. I don’t use it everyday but with just a little water it can refresh my hair every week. I use a normal spray bottle with water or the refresher spray.

    Other than that in the winter I mix pure shea butter with jojoba oil, castor oil, and either grapseed oil or olive oil. With this mix my hair feels very moisturized and it soaks up into my strands like water to the desert. Then I usually follow later in the week with a wash and go.

    I think you should try my youtubechannel girls.

    http://www.youtube.com/user/taren916-she used to love Miss Jessies and a few other products. Recently she cut her hair so she now uses a different set.

    http://www.youtube.com/user/Naptural85-she does a lot of mixing with shea butter and other products to nurish hair. I used her shea butter mix above and followed the recipe. I love it.

    http://www.youtube.com/user/kimmaytube?blend=1&ob=5 (she is a total B*** because she got blocked me from posting after I told about my horrible experience with straightening) but she is informative and she has information about kinky kurly because she uses it in a mixture of her own to make it last longer as well as curl well.

    @kperry3: I would recommend seeing if you can purchase a small or trial size because that’s an expensive product.

    P.S. I know they sell Kinky-Curly in Whole Foods and they will give you free samples if you ask.

    @kperry3:

    Yeah the other two have looser curl patterns than me as well. Actually I can’t find anyone with hair like mine. I just kinda try out whatever is suggested though. The last one Kimmaytube has excellent advice. I really love her information on growing hair and how to protect the hair. (Hense the reason why I was disturbed to see her straightening her hair 1 month ago for the 1st time!) I just loved her information on protection and growth and maintence. Her styling is quite different from mine. Thats why I watch some of the others. They have suggestions for changing it up a bit.

    I wish there was someone out there with information on styling natural hair for weddings. I don’t want to use heat because my last round for my test hair killed my curls! It hasn’t reverted back since then ๐Ÿ™

    I have some extensions I would like to add in and try to make my curls form into a similar pattern ast the extension. If that makes since! I just want a little added length without the damage to my hair.

    I am going to test out bantou knots and see if they help create a similar curl to the extensions.

    P.S. I was on my favorite hair forum tonight longhaircareforum.com and someone recommended this discount website. They said the products came really fast. They have the KC products on here, too. I plan on purchasing from here in the future when I run out of my moisturizers.

    Also, LHCF has tons of reviews. I’m sure you’ll find someone there or even on YouTube with a similar hair type to yours that has used these products. They’re very popular.

    I’ve never used either product, nor am I AA, but I work with AA hair at work.  I would def. suggest trying the Kinky Curling Cream (you’re talking about the product by Hair Rules, right?).  They are now selling Hair Rules products at Ulta for less than $10!!  They normally are in the $30 range on the Hair Rules site.

    @kperry3:

    Yeah I hear that it works really well. I am intersted in trying it someday. Maybe when I go back home I will buy a few bottles to bring back with me.

    I hear it mixed with aloe vera really can make a nice mosturize mix. I saw that from Kimmaytube. She does that and did it for about 2 years and now her hair is to her behind. ^_^

    I’m a big fan of Kinky-Curly. I’m a white girl, but my curly hair loves Kinky Curly Curling Custard, which I buy at Whole Foods. A little does go a long way, for me at least and it can easily feel producty if you’re not familiar with how to best use it for yourself.  It’s a good product overall. I would still use it with a leave-in conditioner though, I don’t find it terribly moisturizing on it’s own.
