I’ll admit it: I’m sometimes not so great at remembering my birth control pills. I forgot to take my pill yesterday and took two this morning to make up for it. I’m feeling anxious for no reason today and am also a bit nauseous. Anyone else expereince this? Maybe I’m anxious/nauseous for another reason, but I’m trying to narrow down the problem. Any feedback would be great 😀

Taking the extra hormones can easily make you sick to your stomach. That combined with being anxious will definitely do it! You’re probably anxious because you’re worried you’ll get pregnant.

It’s the extra hormones that are making you feel that way; you might get a headache too. Use a back up method (if you’re sexually active) until you start your new pill pack just to be safe! Have you tried setting an alarm to help you remember to take your pill?

And, just FYI, I got pregnant taking the pill perfectly. You might want to consider a backup method if this is a habit!

Whenever I had to double up I would get nauseous if I hadn’t eaten very much before hand.
I would suggest since you have a history of not remembering to take your pills that you switch bc methods. I’m on the depo shot and I loooove it! I only have to get it once every 3 months.

The pill used to make me nauseous especially if I missed a day and doubled up the next.

taking 2 pills is most like why you’re nauseous. way back when i was on the pill, it happened to me. don’t worry about it.

Yep, I’ve had this happen when I’ve taken two. Don’t take them together–take one as soon as you remember, and the next one like normal. If you forget, set an alarm on your phone to go off every day to remind you.

I have never had an issue when I have taken 2 at once but apparently everyone else has lol so maybe Im the different one:D

As many of the others have said, it’s very common! Try to eat something hearty, that usually helped me. Feel better!

Very common. Eat some crackers. Sometimes if i take the pill on an empty stomach i get a little nauseous too.

unfortantly, i have this happen often…. but ive been very lucky and never ended up pregnant. i put my pills in bathroom right next to toothbrush so i rmemeber when i wake up in the morning. Try putting your pills someplace you always visit first thing in the morning.

Perfectly normal. Set your cell alarm to go off at the same time everyday so you can avoid this.

There are also text alerts you can sign up for on different websites–so it’s like a text message but it tells you to take your pill. I also have my alarm set on my phone, it just beeps like it would with a text message.
I wouldn’t worry too much–most pills say that you don’t need extra backup if you only miss one. Although it depends on which pill you missed (I think if it’s one of the first three in a new pack, you have to use backup).

Sorry to bump an old thread but I need advice on this subject.
Several months ago I forgot to take my pill one day so the next I took two. And I got horribly sick. I couldn’t get out of bed for two days, had a fever, and was very nauseous.
Now today I notice that I forgot to take yesterday’s pill. Now I’m wondering what to do because I do not want to experience that illness again. I took one pill this morning as normal.
So in regards to the second pill do I….
A) Wait twelve hours to take the second pill. And then tomorrow morning next that days pill as normal.
B) Do I take the second pill immediately and hope the last time I got sick was a fluke.
or C) Don’t take another pill today. Just take one tomorrow as normal, and essentially extend out my pill set this month by one day.
I’m not worried about getting pregnant. Just really want to avoid getting sick.
