Ive been on the pill (Junel 1/20 Fe) for over 6 years consecutively now. I’ve never missed a period until this month. It comes like clock work the evening of the first placebo pill every month…still nothing yet. I took the first two pills of this pack probably 4 hours later than I normally do? I’ve had mild menstrual like cramps but no period. I’m set to start a new pack Sunday. Should I be taking a pregnancy test prior to starting this pack?

I would test just in case. Have you had otherwise unprotected sex? Have you been on antibiotics?

unprotected yes, no antibiotics.

I’d take a test just in case. You can still start your normal pack, but if you are pregnant, it would show up on a test.

Definitely take a test and start your next pack, but I wouldn’t be too concerned yet. I’m also on Junel Fe and have been for about five years and I just recently started missing a period or two while on the pill.

meshell85 : Take a test. The first few pills of the pack are the most important. That is when you’re most likely to get pregnant. Although it is still highly unlikely, you should definitely take a test and then just continue to pack as normal.
Have you had any lifestyle changes recently? Dietary, exercise, stress? That could be the cause.
