If I miss one pill, I’m ok, but if I miss two, the next morning I get my ‘period.’ However, getting back on the pills usually make it stop until I get to my inactive pills again. Just keep up with your pill, wear a liner/tampon for a bit, and you should be just fine.

It’s totally common. So common that it’s usually printed out in your pill pack what to do if you miss one day, two days, or 2+ days and how to get back into your pill cycle.

I usually only get my period if I miss two, and then I get two that month (the unexpected on finishes regardless of taking active pills, and then the expected one starts as expected). Idk how terrible this is, but if my period is only a couple days off, I will just start the inactive pills and skip the rest of the pack. When I finish the inactive pills I start a new pack. Back to your question though, yes it is normal to have an unexpected period if you miss only one pill. Sometimes it is a full period, and other times it is just spotting. I would predict that you will not get your period again this month because you will probably still be on it when you start the inactive pills. And some of this depends on the type of BCP you’re on. I have only been on low dose ones, it is probably different if you’re on a higher dose or something like seasonique where you get your period less often.
