My FDIL told me last night that 3 of the 8 bridesmaids dresses (all in a size 4) from JC Crew were supposed to be here 2 weeks ago, but are now backordered. She ordered them in February and some of the dresses came in right away, but the others were promised mid May. The wedding is 7 weeks away on July 24! The store just sent her an email saying that the next cut of that syle dress is sometime in July. They are offering her the money back for the other dresses. So now what? She has picked out all her flowers, linens, and rest of the decor around the color of these dresses. She doesn’t know if she should gamble on the dresses coming in (JC Crew is also looking in their other stores) or start looking elsewhere for new dresses. I don’t know even where she would look to find 8 dresses in various sizes that she could get right away. She wants them all the same style. If she does have to find new dresses, where would you suggest she look?

yep, already checked ebay. No luck. Where can you order 8 dresses in a hurry? I know she didn’t find anything at David’s bridal that she liked before, but how long do they usually take to get dresses?

Macy’s might have some options for her – the last wedding I was in – the bride found a bunch of styles she liked there (and affordable too).

Do they have a similar style in the same color? I think it looks great to have mixed styles.

Can you all get in sz 6’s and alter them down? Perhaps the company can discount the dresses a little to compensate for this too.

I agree with maisymay. I wonder if they’d be able to make size 6’s work. Every wedding I’ve ever been in had at least a couple girls who ordered their dresses too small to begin with. I bet j.crew would discount for their error, as well.
