I would love advice on how to handle this situation. We were married last month and I’m finishing up my thank you cards. I noticed after checking the Thank You Manager at Crate & Barrel, that it shows a gift purchased a few months ago that we still haven’t received. The guest identified as the purchaser attended our wedding. I also checked with C&B to see if it was shipped, just in case it was lost during shipping, and they said it was not.
So, do I assume the gift was lost/misplaced during the wedding and go ahead and send a thank you note?
Or should I wait a month or two to see if the guest gives it to us later?
I think it would be awkward to bring it up, as the guest is not a close friend or family member, but I would feel awful if they did bring it to the wedding and they don’t receive a thank you.
Thanks for your help!

yikes, we had a couple weird no show gifts as well as gifts with no names! I just sent a thank you note for coming and afterwards they let me know about the gift.
you can see who purchased the gifts on your registry online with crate & barrel? cool! what if someone bought it in store and lets say used cash? How would it know?

yep, the thank you manager feature is awesome! I think people are asked when buying a gift if they would like to provide their name & address for the bride and groom, but it is totally optional. So I have contacts listed for some gifts, but not for others.
thanks for the advice! the mystery gift thing is kind of stressful. we also have some other gift situations that seem a little weird, so maybe you’re right and people will let us know afterward. who knew thank you notes would be so complicated?! 🙂
