About a year or so before I was engaged, I found the perfect wedding dress. It waa nothing like what I thought I would wear, but I was in love. After getting engaged, I looked at every single wedding dress online that I could find. I saved each one that I liked, and then compared them to my original love. Nothing compared. When I went to try dresses on in April, I was looking through the racks and pulled a dress that looked nice, and the consultant pulled a few dresses that were similar to what I described (I stupidly forgot the picture). I was upset because they didn’t have the dress that I had obbsessed over. I tried dress after dress and the last one was the one that I had pulled. It looked completely different on the hanger, but as I was putting my legs in, I realized it was the one! Oh, destiny! Now I look at it all the time online, and can’t get enough! It is beyond perfect! Any other dress stories, or anyone with the same dress?

First, your dress is absolutely beautiful!
I didn’t find mine quite as early but after we got engaged I looked at pictures online for almost a year since I knew it was too early to buy a dress. I found one I loved online more than anything and nothing seemed to compare. Finally I found my dress at a store and I loved it the moment I put it on. After it finally came in I went and looked at it in my closet every day.

I love the back! I want to see pictures of you in it.
I didn’t really look at pictures much online. I had a sort of vague idea of what I might like. I ended up buying my dress really early, but just because it was one of those right time/place/dress/price things. My mom and Future Mother-In-Law were both there, and it was the only time they would ever go shopping with me. It was perfect.

Before I got engaged i had ideas of elements I wanted in my dress, but I knew I just kind of wanted to get in there and see what everything looked like on. I tried tons of different styles, just to see if a style I didn’t think of would look good when it was on my body. I had pictures of several dresses that I LOVED. One had a lot of lace appliques at the bottom and a structured top, but the store didn’t have that exact dress, however they had a similar one. I really loved it but it was so heavy and I have a long day ahead of me so I vetoed it. After trying on tons of other dresses I eventually ended up with my dream dress (although I didn’t know it until I had it on). It had almost every element that I wanted in a dress, plus some that I didn’t expect! It’s great to do research because it definitely helps narrow down the millions of styles, but you never know what you will end up with!

@Keltaena: I don’t have any pictures of me in it! My camera diedafter my mom took one picture of it. Haha. Give me a year and a half, and you will have it!
And I was totally scared that it wasn’t going to look good on me, because all the dresses I liked where similar! And I bought it so early because I found it so long ago and I was afraid that it would go out of production, which would be awful!
