So messed up.

I liked the first comment- “Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian, any more than standing in a garage makes you a Cadillac.”

Wow. I would be ashamed if I was a member of that church. Of course, after this, I would no longer be a member of that church. Disgusting.

This is absolutelly insane. You would think that with books like the help giving so much attention to the racial issues in Jackson that with all these years this woudlnt be happening.

What the hell is wrong with people?  I can’t believe this.

@Robin_Sparkles:  This. I just can’t. I cannot believe that, as a pastor, he opted to keep his job rather than step down after other members told him they didn’t want that wedding there. Disgusting.

Shame on that Pastor! Way to show the members of his church how to be “Christ-like”.

@ProfessorGirl:  Exactly. I do not think we have come as far as we think we have as a society. Plenty of racism to go around.

@Mrs_Amanda:  I will never understand racism.

@vorpalette:  unfortunately where I live– it abounds. A lot of it is so engrained in people at such a young age, they hardly recognize it for racism because everyone else around them feels the same way!

I can’t believe stuff like this is still happening in this county.  I am saddened that the pastor choose to send them away.

@Mrs_Amanda:  It’s around where I live as well, though more behind closed doors and not prevalent. I grew up in a small town where groups of guys in trucks would meet up and drive to school with giant Confederate flags. I walked by a group of them and told them to go back to elementary social studies where we learned that Michigan is, in fact, very much north of the Mason-Dixon line, and that if they feel the need to fly that flag, they can go ahead and learn what it means and then relocate. The racism here is geared more towards “Mexicans,” meaning anyone who looks Hispanic and speaks English as a second language. Sad, since we’re a college town.
