MrsJenningsToBe:  I do not have side diamonds but I have a 2ct. moissanite solitaire with 3 small blue diamonds on each side of the ring. The hardness is pretty much the same so you just have to find a willing jeweler and you should be good to go! I’d just get all your stones in and see what they look like next to each other (color wise) before you set them.

Mine has a 2ct moissanite center stone and the rest are diamonds. I actually wasn’t given the option of having all of the stones be moissanite, since the jeweler said they typically don’t stock them that small, so I don’t know if it would have costed more or less. But my ring was MUCH more affordable than a completely diamond one, even with a much smaller stone

My boyfriend and I have been looking at normal diamond ring stores but just for the ring setting. Hes not buying the center stone from them. He’s going to order the mossinite stone online and have it set with the diamond setting. That way I can try on the exact ring I want in person. The sales people weren’t too thrilled knowing that since the diamond is much more expensive than the setting and they’re loosing money on us but it’s nice to be able to try on the exact ring you want. So long story short, yes, you can combine the two stones.

MrsJenningsToBe: My center stone is moissanite and my side stones are diamonds. My original stone was an Asha CZ. When I had my moissy set, I just let the jeweler know that the stones in the band were diamond. There was no issue. My setting is palladium.

Yes, it’s definitely possible. I’d say that the majority of moissy rings have melee diamonds in them. Moissanite melee looks very similar to diamond, but is harder to have replaced if you lose a stone. I chose a moissy center with diamond pave for this reason. You should probably go down a few color grades in the diamond melee, so it’s a better ‘match.’ I chose J colored diamonds in mine.

MrsJenningsToBe:  Yes, they can work with all different kinds of stones. People mix them all the time. No rules. I have a moissy center stone and diamond side stones. White gold.

MrsJenningsToBe:  I had a question about that, and apparently moissanite doesn’t look very good when you get it smaller than 1/4 carat.  Also, because of the supply, diamonds are more plentiful at that size, so you will end up spending less for a setting with many small diamond than you would with many small moissanite.

MrsJenningsToBe:  hi!!! My e-ring is a moissy centre in a diamond halo. My cousin who works in Vancouver was able to order me in a FB moissy and place it in the setting they had. I love it!!
