Out of curiosity…
…how many of you have had to register for more than one line of china? FH and I absolutely fell in LOVE with Lenox Westmore but it is severely limited in the amount of matching serveware. It comes with 1 size for a serving platter and 1 serving bowl. We tried moving beyond that to find another pattern we loved but kept coming back to it and decided to just take the plunge with the hopes that more pieces would be coming out before the wedding.
We had a great Macy’s associate who helped us find another set that matched the white in our Westmore china (Lenox Federal Platinum) but we’re essentially going to end up with other pieces that aren’t perfect matches (such as the salt and pepper shakers, gravy boat, vegetable bowl, etc.).
Have any of you bees had to do something similar?? The Lenox Federal Platinum is simple enough that I don’t think it’ll clash but I wonder what it’ll all look like spread on the table.
I’ve attached pictures just so you can get an idea of how the pieces look next to one another. The first picture is the Westmore collection.

We didn’t register for china, but the set that you did is really pretty. I wonder why they don’t make more matching pieces.

FoxyBride14: Thank you! I’m confused as well….I think it’s absolutely gorgeous.
I’m worried that we’ll collect serving pieces from this other line and then a year or so into our marriage, our primary collection will suddenly come out with other pieces.

I love the Lenox Westmore too, but am having the same concern! I wish it at least had a teapot, although the Macy’s associate I spoke with also recommended the Federal Platinum.
I wouldn’t worry too much about the salt and pepper shaker/sugar and creamer etc. – you can always do Waterford for those, right? (That’s what I’m thinking at least.) Even though I wish there were more pieces, I’m inclined to go for it anyway – it’s the prettiest pattern I’ve seen. Did you decide?

Looking at Replacements.com . . it’s looks like the Lenox Westmore is a fairly new style (started in 2012). My impression is they ramp up the pieces based on it’s popularity and perceived formality. Keep an eye in the coming years if you are really attached and maybe hold off on getting all the serving pieces for now? Or you can get the mismatched ones, which to me looks great (I’m not all that concerned with things matching and different serving sets can help you celebrate different holidays, in my opinion). I ended up just going for it and registering for the Westmore…it’s so gorgeous to me! We already have 9 out of 12 place settings so we’re doing well. We haven;t received any of the serving pieces yet (even though Macy’s is having a KILLER sell on them right now!) so I think we’ll just concentrate on getting whatever matching pieces we can find after the wedding and slowly build our collection over time. It’ll just be us two for a bit anyway so there’s no rush.

I showed the pictures to my fiance, and I think we’re going to register also. Glad to hear you made the same decision 🙂 And agreed on waiting on the teapot and other serving pieces they’re not making in the line yet. Hopefully, they’ll continue it! I was so glad to find someone else going through the same decison making process @SwtAnana!

Good news! I e-mailed Lenox yesterday to ask if they would be adding to the line, and this was their response this morning (exactly what you said @pastrygirl). I think this means I’ll hold off on adding any Federal Platinum pieces. (Also, I was really impressed by the speed of their customer service.)

The Westmore pattern is one of our new patterns and I am sure new pieces will be added.
We add new pieces to different pattern in the spring and the in fall. We do not know at this time what pieces will be added to the Westmore collection.
