I think the setting is lovely and not too chunky at all.   For my own taste, what bothers me most about it is the gap between the halo and the stone.  I think if the center were larger and filled out the halo, the setting wouldn’t look so chunky.  Or if the halo were a little smaller and fit tightly around the center stone.

jayymed05 :  That could be true depending on what the prongs look like, they could only be stretched out so much.  I can’t imagine the jeweler would lie about that and not try to sell him a larger stone if it would fit!  haha.  I dunno, this could go one of 2 ways.  You could learn to love it, or it will just bug you more and more.  If you think you’re in the latter camp and the ring is still within a return policy, I’d maybe try to talk to him about switching it up.  If it’s too late to return, then I guess it has to be learn to love it.

jayymed05 :  I like the ring, but if your not happy see if they have a exchange policy.

jayymed05 :  oh that does look like it fits a larger stone then.  So are you within the return policy?  Is a larger stone within budget?

I think it is beyond lovely. But what I think doesn’t matter, if you don’t love it.

Hope this doesnt upset you but, I’d return it. From my understanding a proper halo should fit the exact specs of YOUR diamond/stone (unless you’re purposely going for the gap look). It looks like they took a setting possibly made for a different stone (radiant, princess) and just put the one your Fiance purchased in it. It would totally bother me. Sorry!
