So here is my dilemma?
I got married a few years ago and we decided to use my grandmother’s wedding ring (which I love) and discussed purchasing my own a few years down the line. That time has come now, my grandmother’s ring is yellow gold and I prefer white gold would it look bad if I got a white gold eternity band? Some of my friends say that it will not look good or I should just wear my grandmother’s ring on my other hand and I don’t like that idea. I would really appreciate any advice or photos of mixed metal rings.

Is your grandmother’s ring your wedding band or ering? I’m having trouble envisioning what you want to do. Although I’ve seen mixed metal rings/sets that were very pretty!

Sorry about the picture being so large.

Is there some white inside the setting on your ering/band? I think I see the prongs are white and so is the detail around your side diamonds… if so, you’ve already got mixed metal, so you’re totally good to go.

What about having your grandma’s ring dipped in rhodium so it’s white?

I have never noticed that before yes there is some minor white gold around the side diamonds but around the main stone it is yellow gold I think the photo made it look more white. I don’t think I could ever have her ring dipped it has 60 years of a wonderful marriage already on it and I think I read that you can’t turn yellow gold into white???? I may be wrong though. Plus I just got the ring engraved with my grandparents initials and my husbands and I. I am planning on making it a family airloom
