It’s a Tesla not a Ferrari or a Mazarati. But I live where all three are common. Tesla’s are like the Toyota Prius where I live. Get the car!

I mean, since money isn’t an issue why not just keep the car you have for work, and buy the Tesla for you and your husband to enjoy when you’re not working? If appearances are that important at work, I’d just get a work car (whether fix the one you have or get a different one you feel safer in) and call it good.

Regardless, at the end of the day, you could be in a different job soon, or decide to take a sabbatical or whatever. I wouldn’t be putting my life pleasures on hold for a job, not in this circumstance.

Get the car, enjoy that money!!! But id buy it once the inheritance is in my account.

Then, buy yourself a nice house /property, invest a bit, be happy. Don’t give another thought to what anyone else will think. If they ask just tell them you wanted it and the financing payments are large so you have to work hard. Definitely don’t tell anyone about the 1.5 million. They’ll be healthier for it.

Carpe diem! That’s Latin for “get the car!”

Teslas, particularly the Model 3, have horrible quality issues.

elodie2019 :  They’re taking over! It’s okay, soon they’ll be able to fly us to space, and hopefully not explode on the way.

So, I might have missed but how much is the car you’re talking about?

I get where you’re coming from. My fiance recently inherited some money and wanted to get a BMW, but decided not to because of his job and the message it might send out. Realistically I don’t think anyone would have cared, but it is something that was bothering him so I do understand what you mean. In the end he got a VW, but decided on getting a new one. As your finances permit it, could you get the Tesla to enjoy recreationally rather than for commuting?
