MOB and MOG dress dilemma

My family is so low-key; this would not be an issue. I don’t think it should be an issue. Would it really negatively affect your wedding in any way?

I guess you really just need to talk to them both and gauge how they feel about wearing a similar color. Dress color might not ruin a wedding, but their reactions might.

My mother and Mother-In-Law wore the same color.  Technically, MOB picks the color and formality of the dress and MOG follows suit, so I think this is perfectly fine.

It’s NBD really. Both lovely dresses.

Sr058632 :  they both look great! This isn’t an issue at all; if anything, some brides might live that the moms are coordinated! I actually attended a wedding a couple years ago where the MOB and MOG wore THE EXACT SAME DRESS – and by total accident! It was just a strange coincidence. They had even talked about their dresses together beforehand, but had described them entirely differently 😂 on said she was wearing “taupe” and the other said “mushroom”

Since your mom’s dress is completely covered in beads or sequins and is really sparkly, the color feels different. I don’t think it should be an issue.

Plus, isn’t the old rule about MOB choosing dress first, then MOG choosing a different color kind of outdated?  It gets too complicated when you factor in possible stepparents, too.

If they are both ok with it, it’s not an argument to create. Just breathe and move on! People won’t think it’s weird, it will actually look more coordinated!

I don’t think it’s a big deal at all, and have no idea why it would even be an issue.  They both look beautiful in their dresses, which means they probably feel great wearing them, which is what matters.

This is so not worth stressing out about. The colors may be the same but they photgraph differently as you can easily see in your pics. They will look coordianted but not matchy matchy.

Sr058632 :  Count yourself lucky that they’ve put the effort and chose great gowns that are very flattering, elegant and not frumpy!
