No offense intended here at all, but maybe your Future Mother-In-Law does not feel comfortable in dresses. In My Humble Opinion I would want my Future Mother-In-Law and mother to feel comfortable first and foremost, plus it’s not like she’s showing up in jeans and a tshirt or faded cotton pants or anything. Plus, maybe the linen pant suit is actually really pretty. Maybe you could ask to see it. But, if you do talk to her about changing her attire, just be aware of how you put it bc you may end up offending her or hurting her feelings. Good luck!

Your pictures won “look funny”, and you don’t need to confront anyone about this. Of you wanted to have total control over what everyone wears, you should have made that clear at the beginning and asked for approval rights or something. If she is comfortable and feels beautiful in what she’s wearing, it will reflect throughout the day and in your photographs.

If she’s more comfortable in a suit and has already purchased something to wear, please be happy to support her in what she’s comfortable on. Also, it’s 2012, and a lady can wear pants anywhere she wants to.
