Take off side sash/pillow and with an even hem at bottom and it would be ok : (2 votes)

It’s a beautiful dress, but it does look a little over the top.  It looks a lot like a wedding dress.

The MOB dress is beautiful, but personally I think that it looks even more extravagant than the wedding dress (which is also beautiful)! I would definitely tone it down a bit for the MOB dress.

I’m usually pretty laid back about what the MOBs wear.  And questions that arise from brides regarding the MOB dress.  However, I do have to say, I think the dress is a bit much.  Probably because it’s a mermaid style with a lot of sparkle and detail?  Perhaps if it was a different color it would work better?

Looking at pictures, I was actually searching for what could be the MOB dress – both look like wedding dresses to me.

The MOB looks lovely, but looks like a wedding dress to me too. Does it seem weird to anyone else that the “mother” models are all of like 25 years old – tops!!! LOL

It looks like a wedding dress!  I wasn’t sure which one was yours at first.

It looks too much like a wedding dress.  Even if you took off the side sash/pillow and made the hem even on the bottom, it looks way too much like a wedding dress.

While the MOB dress is very pretty, it’s too much for your wedding day. It looks too much like a wedding gown.

WAY too much!  I honestly think MOB dress should be more understated.  Or, if MOB wants to wear a dress that is long and fancy, she should pick a color that is not similar to a wedding gown color.  Is your wedding black tie?  If it’s not, then perhaps MOB would be better suited to wear something cocktail length.

I think for September, colors for MOB such as jewel tones, or even a dusty blue would be lovely.  Perhaps you should steer her away from shopping “wedding shops” and instead have her check out the formal gown section of department stores?  I personally think that places like Saks, Nordstrom, etc have lovely evening gowns that are perfectly suited to MOB.

Okay I actually considered that dress as a wedding dress! So it’s way too over the top for the MOB plus the color doesn’t help much – if it were a dark color I’d have less of a problem with it.
