So I’m almost done with my DIY glittered wine glasses as a little pre-wedding gift for my Bridesmaid or Best Man.. I’ve used Mod Podge gloss to seal the glitter in, and it seems to be doing a decent job–some glitter still flakes off, oh well.. but then my sister texts me this morning & told me she read that if Mod gets damp it turns sticky.. I don’t want the girls to take these home & accidently get it wet & it becomes a glittery mess. I’m giving these glasses to them soon & wanted to finish this up tonight…
What have you used to seal your Mod Podge glitter projects?!

That’s strange since the Modge Podge is a sealer… I think your sister may be full of it. Maybe do a test patch on something else to see if there’s any merit to her theory before going crazy with sealants. If anything, I would use a spray on clear coat sealer you can find in the craft store or hardware store.

I’ve never had a problem with modge podge turning sticky when wet, it’s a sealer. But I do agree with PP, do a little test run first and see.

I agree with the other ladies. Test it out. If you’re still looking for an alternative, try a varnish (of course check the MSDS), but I couldn’t find any negative effects of using Delta Creative Gloss Exterior/Interior Varnish on the MSDS.
