I posted this in ideas:

I wouldn’t want to be a mod, but sometimes there are posts that I feel need to be taken down ASAP. I have seen in other forums where a post leads to a dangerous situation for someone.
The team does their best, but crap seems to pop up when the team is stretched. Probably for 2 reasons
- people tend to post more when there’s a holiday
- we only see the stuff that isn’t caught by the mods
I don’t intend this to be for the type of posts that offend some, but for the types of things where leaving it up for a few hours would cause bigger problems than a bit of site drama and hurt feelings.

I see the potential for misuse. If anyone has ideas about how to prevent this beyond more than 1 such flag needed and possibly a number of posts requirement, please share!

Maybe if a post has been flagged, it could be identified to all users that it has been flagged so multiple flags don’t occur?
@AB Bride: Is there a possibility of when flagging something, a selection from a drop-down menu must be used indicating why the post is flagged in addition to the existing comment box? Possibly that would be the place for an “high priority” flag, but that doesn’t completely eliminate the potential for abuse unless it was habitiual misuse from the same member.
@ChuckNorris: I am thinking for this, multiple flags would be useful. I suggested 2, but maybe more than that would be needed. The mod team would have a better idea of how many flags at an off-peak time might come in.
@LittleCricket: I was thinking about that too. There’s weird situations that pop up, so they would have to be very broad.
I need to take off, I will check in later though!

Great idea! I voted on it.

The only issue I see with a “911” type of flag is that it would be misused like PPs said. To the person (or people) that a bee’s post offends wouldnt it always be considered a 911 type of thing. I see people getting worked up over what, to me, seems slightly ridiculous but to them it is a big deal. I would think that if a post offends u that u would always want it down asap.
