Has anyone purchased this dress? I’m wondering about fit/if it can be taylored. Im getting married in September and I find this dress to be simple yet still feminine, and the price is right. However, the model’s figure is no where close to mine! Im average weight, but pretty curvy and have a very short waist. Usually the ModCloth site reviews are super helpful, but no one has reviewed it yet, and I don’t want to wait to purchase incase it doesn’t work out. Here is an image as well as the link. Any help will be appreciated!

You can return ModCloth dresses, so feel free to buy and return if it doesn’t work out 🙂

I love modcloth! I am curvy and sort of between sizes. My bust is a 14, my waist is a 16 and my hips are a size 20. So I usually have to order up and then alter or deal with the top being too big. Normally I buy the a-line dresses so that I don’t have to size all the way to the 20.
I haven’t bought this dress, but the linning/shape would be a problem for my hips. If your hips aren’t the same size as mine then it might not be as much of a problem. Also, any alterations shouldn’t be too hard for someone who knows how.
I would contact the Customer Care and ask them how it fits. They should be able to tell you if it fits small or big or doesn’t have any stretch or whatever.
Good luck! This dress is beautiful!!

Haven’t tried it, but considering its for your wedding, I would most certainly buy it and see how you like it since you can return. If it seems like a contender, you can just take it to a tailor to get an estimate on cost. I love Modcloth, but whenever I’ve gone there for dresses I usually order a bunch knowing the fabric and fit is totally a hit or miss.
FWIW, I am short waisted and curvy and my wedding dress had a more natural waistline. I think the waistline on this would be perfect for that body type.

This dress is gorgeous! I love shopping at modcloth (though I’ve never purchased a wedding dress) but their return policies are excellent so even if you do decide to purchase this dress and something comes along you can return it very easily!

I bought my wedding dress from ModCloth! I bought three sizes because I honestly had no idea where I’d size. I chose that one that fit me best, returned the others, and then tailored the dress to fit me that way I wanted. That particular dress can absolutely be tailored to fit you. In my experience, I chose the dress that best fit the widest part of my body (my chest). From there, I had the waist taken in on it, had the sleeves tightened, the dress shortened, the back of the dress raised to hide my bra. No issues.
