I’ve ordered a lot of things from them, but find their dresses to be on the short side.

Modcloth is wonderful.  Great about returns too.  Some of their dresses are better quality than others, but it just depends on the designer.  Definitely check the size charts- they’ll usually say if the dress runs small or big.

@Celliaanne:  Love Modcloth and they do free returns which is very nice. Quick shipping, and decent prices. I do agree that a lot of their dresses run short and small, so I would take that into consideration.

@Celliaanne:  Modcloth is great. They have a fantastic returns team.

I would recommend heavily reading the reviews section. I think that’s the best part of what makes Modcloth. There may be reviewers who list their height.

Just check the length on the dress and measure it against a dress you have and like.  That’s what I do!

I’ve never had luck w/ them, their clothes always look SO cute online and then fit poorly in person. I even once ordered a medium because I knew their things run short and the dress was still so short that the bottom of my butt literally stuck out. I’m about 5′ 5″ ish, I’m not even that tall, it’s absurd.

@Celliaanne:  Read the reviews, check photos and know your measurements. Typically, if it’s a popular dress, someone with similar measurements to yours will give you an accurate assessment of how something fits.

I ordered my engagement photo dress, bridal shower dress, and rehearsal dress from them and 3 other dresses in the past.

Read the reviews for dresses. My BFF (who I’m a Maid/Matron of Honor for her wedding) got us bridesmaids dresses from there. The first, we didn’t like they were too short (the reviews said they were a wee bit short, they weren’t lying!) and then the second ones she got were perfect. I can’t wait for October so I can wear it. They’re definitely dresses I’d wear again in a heartbeat.

@Celliaanne:  Ive ordered a lot from them, but as a PP pointed out their dresses run short. They do have the longer lengths option though. I would check those out!

@Celliaanne:  I literally live on this site and recommend it for all brides looking to have their girls in something other then a David’s bridal dress that e-v-e-r-y-o-n-e else has done.

I ordered all my my dresses for my girls from here and I was in a wedding where we all wore a dress from the site as well.

  • Their return policy is pretty normal
  • Check the reviews to know if you should size up or down
  • Check the details for the lengths – they aren’t usually wrong

Pick one or two that you like – even though you really like the one you see – they sell out really fast if the style is cute. More than a few times I have waited a day to make a purchase and then lost my chance.

You can buy the dress and have it sent directly to the bridesmaid without hassle. I did this for one of my girls in San Antonio – she needed a bigger size so SHE called the company and they handled the return without even involving me! How awesome is that?!?

Here’s some of my dresses (one is from a pin-up site):

@Celliaanne:  my bridal shower dress is from there, I’m 5’3″ and it fits me perfectly. Just make sure to get the size that matches your measurements and get a dress with good reviews and photos.
