I would recommend Mountainville Manor in Mountainville NY (near Newburgh).

My cousin and sister both got married there (in 2006 and 2007) and it was really nice. (Basically my cousin’s wedding was so lovely my sister decided to have her wedding there too).

The grounds are beautiful.  My cousin had his ceremony outside there.

It’s basically an old mansion with a space tacked on the back to accomodate large groups.

I believe that it’s in your price range.  My cousin had plated service and it was well done.  My sister had a buffet and it was nice as well. They were very easy to work with.

If you are looking in the Philadelphia area, the Fonthill Castle Museum is outrageously beautiful. Set admist rolling hills and countryside, but right near 3 quaint towns that have great restaurants and fun attractions.

We paid $1500 for rental fees and this included use of a huge party tent if we wanted, plus tours of the museum. It’s gorgeous and features a long tree-lined drive up to the mansion.

I couldn’t be more excited about this!
