@imalittlebirdie:  I’m going to save some questions and just email you the entire list I’ve made from this post later tonight– I don’t want to keep sending you 3 at a time!  Just lookout for my message later, I’ll be sure to label it clearly!  Thanks!

@miss sparkly cat:  I have to say that it’s crystal clear to me that what Bakerella said to you in that PM was not at all that people can be banned for editing.

What she said is people can be banned for abusing the edit feature.

I can definitely understand how someone could abuse the edit feature by repeatedly posting snark/nasty comments, then removing them after a minute or two. And I can see how in some cases it might be tricky to discern who was letting their emotions get the better of them and then honestly trying to fix their mistake, vs. trying to say nasty things and get away with it.

ETA: Really, sparkly? You’re not exactly helping your case.

It’s a joke, ladies. I honestly don’t think the rest of us care, although I can only speak for myself.

@Sunfire:  Yes, that is what I got from it as well – abusing the editing feature, not simply editing.

I think, whichever it was (since Sparkly Cat did get a warning, regardless), it should be clearly put in the ToS.

@bookworm88:   True that, I agree, it should be added to the TOS specifically describing what the editing feature can and cannot be used for.

@bookworm88:  like I said, just posting what I would presume to be the logic. And it does say in the TOS that PMs are private – so I could see where posting them could get you in trouble.

Unless of course, it’s guitarguy and you just have to share cause it’s that crazy. And he was a troll. And trolls don’t get the same consideration.

@hisgoosiegirl:  hahahahaha even I would consider giving guitarguy an exemption to the rules.

@bookworm88:  Yes, I definitely think that is fair. Having it in the TOS so that the editing policy is clear would be helpful, although I think something like this is hard since, as a few PPs have mentioned, it would be difficult to discern between someone who is trying to get the nasty comment in then changing it so Mods don’t see and someone who regretted their hot-headed comment and edited so as not to inflame things further.

Another good point. Posting a PM from a troll, totes ok. Posting a PM about a warning to get some clarification not ok. Yeah that makes total senseUndecided
