If this is a place to ask questions re: policy… Why can’t we request our own threads be deleted if there is true demonstrable need for them to be removed? I understand the policy of not mass deleting someone’s posts, but if a post may caus irrepicable harm I think we need that option. In the support forms if you go back far enough you’ll see more flexibility with this but now the only considerations are if you post your name or address or something like that. I truly think that some flexibilty is needed with that policy…

@MrsElopement:  Thanks for the bump. I read through ALL of the threads related to this topic, and I do agree about some of the arbitrary moderation as well. I got warned for a legitimate reason after having too much wine one night, and I accept that, but I once made a comment about an inappropriate thread that was an obvious violation of TOS, and I innocently said, “I wonder how long it’s going to take for mods to come in and say ‘this thread has run its course, and is now closed?'” It wasn’t a jab at the moderation team whatsoever, so much as saying everyone was going NUTS in the thread in question, and it deserved to be shut down. If you pay attention to that thread, I posted in two other places, giving the OP food for thought, instead of berating her the way everyone else was. My spirit of posting was genuine. 

Meanwhile, snark city can live and proliferate with other bees habitually. I get moderating is a tough job, and I appreciate those who do it. I just want to know what crosses the line and what doesn’t, so I can be mindful of not over stepping boundaries, because I DO appreciate this community. 

Thank you to the hostesses / mods / admin, whatever you’re calling yourselves… to get the bees on the same page. I know it’s a thankless job, but I appreciate you taking the time to do it every day. 🙂

I just want to reiterate that I think Gemstone is doing an amazing job.  She’s definitely doing way more than just the job of one person–  heck, I think she deserves a promotion if she’s the one diplomatically answering everyone’s questions and actually present in the important threads. (Girl, if you aren’t one of the ones getting paid– you should be!)
