What kinds of things do you consider to be ‘modern vintage’?  This is kind of a wide category.

Can you tell us something about how you are interpreting that concept? Are you thinking of a vintage theme with some modern elements? A modern feel, while incorporating some vintage elements? Equal parts modern and vintage?

Can you give an example of what “modern vintage” is to you?

Or a picture that inspired your theme?

Haha my finance and I were laughing about this very thing tonight. Modern vintage is a total oxymoron. I was telling him how I wanted vintage but I think our venue is more fit for modern so he suggested modern vintage and we had a good laugh.

I too would like o know how to do modern vintage :p

Everything on Pinterest wedding category seems to be “modern vintage” to me. Perhaps you could start an inspiration board there?

I am doing modern/vintage. I fell in love with centerpiece inspiration I found on a blog.  We are doing blush pink, white, silver and gold for colors.  This was done for less than $375.  I have been hitting thrift stores and picking up milk glass, pink depression glass (hard to find), silver and gold candle holders, and picture frames.

@MissAshleyRenee:  To me that looks just vintage, what makes it modern?

I think it is more modern because of the clean look to the clear/crystal glass and the simplicity of it.  The table cloths will be clean and white. Ha I guess I am more on the vintage side!

It is a tricky one, but the way I see the theme is vintage styling with modern colour scheme. So instead of pale colours go BRIGHT.. kind of like this:

But this is only my view on it…

We’re doing modern vintage for our wedding, too.  We’re going to try and keep the decor and color palette simple (silver and shades of plum and purple), but use vintage elements, such as old picture frames, silver vases for our centerpieces, and some prints with vintage design elements (for our invitations and save the date cards).

My daughter started out vintage but ended up with a lot of bling, so it was kind of modern/vintage.  Only have a couple pictures yet.
