Your ring is elegant! It’s a very popular style and size, so maybe that’s why people don’t comment.

Your ring might be small and simple, but your rings (and manicure) are beautiful. It’s so easy to get ring envy on sites like this with these large stone rings. But you and your fiancé love the ring and love each other. If it starts to bother you, you can always upgrade in the future, or get a wedding band that can help enhance it.

I don’t consider mine modest, but in comparison to these 2 ct.+ it is.

congratulations on your engagement!

l1989 :  Your ring is very pretty and suits your hand. Comparison is the thief of joy. Dont let lack of compliments get to you.

You have a beautiful ring! The diamond is a great size. I don’t think that people comment on e-rings all that often unless you’re newly engaged or it’s a very, very unique ring.

Here’s mine. Your diamond actually looks pretty big to me. I love simple solitaires. I think 2 carat is ridiculously huge, but that’s me. I have a pretty modest e-ring–it’s a solitaire and under a half a carat. No idea what size exactly it is. It’s simple and I really like it, but it’s a very common style so people don’t usually compliment me on it. If you like it, that’s all that matters. You do you.

l1989 :  I actually don’t experience shrinkage at all from coming on here, but I’m also just really not into big stones or big jewellery….maybe I have weird taste, idk…I did have a touch of stack envy I guess you’d call it, but I got a 2nd band for Christmas so that has been resolved, lol. My engagement ring is .2ctw and I don’t find it small at all, I absolutely love my rings 💖

l1989: I totally understand how you feel, mine is 0.5 center and I love it but it’s so easy to see huge rings and experience shrinkage (espicially here).  I mostly got compliments when I first got engaged or when people have a reason to specifically look at my hands (like getting my nails done).  It probably has a lot to do with age and local area for what people expect with size?

l1989 :

Your elegant , classic and   timeless ring  is not ‘small  and simple’  as a pp suggests nor does it need ‘upgrading’ now or ever .I  deplore  the ‘upgrading’  idea ,  your engagement  ring is the one he proposed with ,  no other ,and your wedding ring is the one you exchanged vows with  , no other.  Of course you can get other rings and wear  them on that  finger too, but  a wedding or engagement ring to me is the ring not just ring.

Several pps have quoted  ‘comparison is the thief of joy’  and never was a truer word  spoken.

My solitaire is 0.99ct but faces up quite small because it’s quite a deep diamond and isn’t cut very well, but the clarity and colour I love and it still sparkles loads. When I first joined the site I felt like it was tiny compared to other but didn’t stop me loving mine.
