- Wedding: May 2009
I’m an older (39) married Maid/Matron of Honor to a beloved friend in an out of state wedding. I at first was the sole Bridesmaid then she decided upon a friend locally so that she could help her also. I was welcoming of that. When it came to the dress however – I had already been driving all over SE Michigan (wedding is in Dec. in St. Louis, MO) to find something approved and what I’d feel comfortable in. Found one on-line and this was after new Bridesmaid had been asked. Was given the go-ahead. So I purchased and received in late July 2012. The other Bridesmaid dragged her feet a bit and sent her order and received her dress but it didn’t fit. She returned it then was told it’s SOLD OUT. She then picked another dress and it arrived and loves it but it is not the same and the Bride is flipping out and my dress (the real “plum”) is being told to return and find another. I’m out $142 as it’s been too long to return – per their e-mail. I’m not comfortable going with this website again as they seem to have odd sizes and our luck would be I get the same dress and it doesn’t fit (the lady that e-mails is in Japan or somewhere and only e-mails during certain hours). I’m asking for a snip of the other dress so I can have as close a match as I can find but I would very much like the Bride to say how sorry she is and offer to compensate me. Is that unreasonable?
