One of my sisters is getting married in August and she asked me to be her Matron of Honor. She’s really easy going and has told us all that she doesn’t mind the style of the dress we wear, so long as it is in a particular color. I live in an entirely different state than the rest of my family (Illinios vs. New Jersey) so shopping together was NOT an option. Not realizing that my two other sisters chose short dresses in a crinkle chiffon fabric, I tried on dresses myself and found that I really liked 3 styles but all of them were either a stretch satin, or a regular satin. Totally different fabric and look. My favorite was long, but… the runner up was short.
I don’t want to bother her by asking a million questions when she’s stated that she really doesn’t mind, but I’m concerned that the different fabrics will look funny in photos and such. Should I try to find a dress in the same fabric to just keep it simple? Or is it ok because I’m the Matron of Honor? I don’t want to stand out, but I also don’t want to just “settle” for a dress I don’t like…so I’m willing to go redo my shopping if I need to, it just gets difficult sometimes with kids on the loose. 🙂
