Hello πŸ™‚

I am planning on having a large party (9 girls) and one of them is my maid of honor. I haven’t done it yet, but I plan on the girls wearing matching dresses and the maid of honor wearing the same dress in a solid color. These are the dresses I chose…

This is my inspiration picture….

@k_trini05:  Super pretty!

I’ve also seen pics of MOH’s with a special sash but the same dress as the BM’s.  I might go this route.

I have two MOH’s and I think having two dresses that stand out might be a little awkward.

Thanks πŸ™‚ I am also toying with the idea of adding gold sashes to the girls dresses since our colors are both gold and sangria.

I think that having two girls as maid of honor in the same dress could look weird when standing up at the alter, but in pictures it could frame you nicely. Or if the bridesmaids are taking pictures then you could have one on each end.

I found a pic of a bride that did it…

I did this!! So I obviously love the idea πŸ˜‰

The lighting in this photo is terrible but you get the idea:

ALSO, ignore the smiles. I am an idiot.

My chosen colors were navy blue and royal purple. I knew I wanted to have my maid of honor stand apart with her dress color so I asked her which color she prefered to wear and she immediately said purple! So I knew the other girls would wear blue. I originally planned to have ALL of my girls in different dresses, however that didn’t work so I forwarded some options to another one of my BMs and just had her choose. And then I ran it by the others and they all liked it, so that’s how the blue dress came to be! I know it probably doesn’t look very cohesive but I am just soooo not picky about this stuff. I think they all looked lovely πŸ™‚

@k_trini05:  Nice find!  Yeah that looks great!  Maybe having solid colors helps?!

@icetea I think solid colors do help. If not, I would suggest (like I am doing) having the girls in print and MOH’s in soilds or vice versa πŸ™‚

My inital plan was to have all the girls pick their own style of dress with in the same fabric and color scheme… they ended up liking the same dress. lol. But I did want to differentiate my Maid/Matron of Honor. I fell in love with this different style and she did too so I kind of worked out. My color scheme was Plum, Champagne, Blush and Black. My shoes were blush and I was supposed to wear a blush sash, but changed my mind at the last minute.
