(Closed) MOH – dropped out asking someone else

I don’t think you have to have an even wedding party, but if you want one ask someone whose close to you and you WANT as a Maid/Matron of Honor. Make sure that person knows you want them to have the position and they aren’t just someone to make the bridal party even. (I had a friend asked to be Maid/Matron of Honor in a similar situation and it really hurt her feelings)

yeah i would consider just having an uneven party as well… no one except you will notice something like that.  unless theres someone you really want to have in… then just promote one of your other bridesmaids to Maid/Matron of Honor and add another bridesmaid.  Just don’t say to the person you’re asking… hey so and so quit so i need someone to fill in.  say something more like i really feel like somethings missing without you in my bridal party.
