So yesterday I was the Maid/Matron of Honor in my best friend’s wedding (my own wedding is in 5 weeks). I was so nervous about everything especially the speech and the reception. Everything went extremely well though so I was excited and relieved that it is over. I did get a bit scared for my own wedding for a quick two minutes during the ceremony but that passed. So now that her wedding is over it’s full force working on my own…..

Did you learn any tips or tricks for your own wedding day now that your friend’s wedding is over?

I’m glad to hear that the wedding went so well and so smoothly. Does that help you feel more relaxed about your own?

Ooooh that is so exciting!
I am doing the same thing next year I am the Maid/Matron of Honor in my best friends wedding 4 weeks before my own – any tips of how you handled it all?

Lillindy – I didn’t really learn any tips for mine. Since I’m pretty much done with everything there is nothing I would be able to change now. We are using the same florist though so I was really happy/relieved when I saw how pretty her flowers turned out!
Jessie-Yes! She is one of my bridesmaids. One of my sister’s is my Maid/Matron of Honor which she completely understood and was fine with. So it is just my friend and my two sisters who are bridesmaids. She has definitely been helping them alot with showers and such.
Cheerful-I have to say it actually made me more nervous but I guess in an excited kind of way becuase it made everything more real.
Future Mrs. – Good luck! It will definitely seem very stressful at times but just remember everything will get done for both of you and everything will be wonderful. Also remember that your wedding does come first and that is okay. Also, if there are other bmaids for your friends wedding def enlist their help so you don’t get too stressed over hers. Even if they aren’t willing to help just make them. Your friend will appreciate that it looks like everyone helped and it will take some work off your shoulders.!

I’m planning a wedding with my Boyfriend or Best Friend too. She got engaged a week afer me! Its been so exciting, we have different taste so its like planning 2 totally different weddings! We’re also in each others weddings, not as Maid/Matron of Honor (our sisters are our MOHs) but as bridesmaids! Its nice to have someone that you can talk wedding to all the time besides the Fi.

Wow I’m so glad someone else has this going on! Me and my best friend are MOHs in eachother’s weddings. She has a date set and its close to when I wanted my wedding. (About 3 weeks)
I had been wondering if i would be able to do all the things I need to do for both our weddings in that time frame, but all of your words have given me encouragement and now I think I just might be able to do both. We are setting the date for my wedding soon because we do want it to be in 2010.
I am new to Wedding Bee and I’m so glad I found it–all you gals are so nice and such an awesome resource to have!!
