- Wedding: May 2010
so i am so thrilled with my MoH these days that i wanted to share.
i always knew i wanted her to be my maid of honor no matter what (weve been besties for like 8 really, um, *interesting* years), but i haven’t been in many weddings myself and she hasn’t been, well, really in any, so it was kind of like the blind leading the slightly-more-blind. she’s not domestic or girly at all, and prefers clubbing to tea sandwiches, so you can see how i might have been a little apprehensive.
since she didn’t know any of the things that maids of honor are supposed to do she’s been relying heavily on another bmaid who is a good friend of ours who has (literally) been in at least 27 weddings. clearly, she’s gotten a great education, bc my Maid/Matron of Honor is doing a kick-a** job.
she spearheaded a bachelorette trip to LA, knowing that ive always wanted to go but would never take the trip on my own. she’s organzing a really nice shower out in the hamptons at her girlfriends house and arranging for all the guests to stay over night at friends’ homes in the vicinity if they want to (a couple-hours drive from the city). she’s been really good at communicating information to the rest of the girls about dresses, shoes, events, et.c i gave her a “how to be a bridesmaid” book over the summer as a joke and later found out that she read it cover to cover and took notes!!! we still have 3.5 months to go, but i feel completely confident and am so amazed and honored that she’s stepped up so solidly. love. her.
sorry, just wanted to share. she rocks!
