Is your friend married? You could always do a Maid of honor and Matron of honor if your friend is married. If not, what about if you just didnt have a Maid/Matron of Honor, and maybe had co-MOH, that way the details can be split, and no ones feelings are getting hurt. I am the matron of honor at my best friends wedding, and her sister is themaid of honor, i am still helping plan the bachelorette party and all as well. I hope this helps!!! 🙂

I had a Maid and a Matron but one of my Bridesmaid or Best Man is the one who actually planned my shower.   I only had one Bridesmaid or Best Man living in the same city as me so my girls didn’t get here til the day before the wedding and everyone just pitched in. I had a total of 9 ladies.  I actually had a friend who was not in the wedding party offer to throw me a shower.

Now, if I could go back in time, I would’ve made them all just Bridesmaid or Best Man or all Maid and Matrons.   We are all super close.  It just could’ve been my photographer but he kept putting emphasis on my Maid and Matron and kind of pushed the Bridesmaid or Best Man in the back and it made me feel a way.   It made me feel like I was saying to the Bridesmaid or Best Man that the other 2 were more important.

You can have more then one maid of honor. You can have a matron of honor and a maid of honor. You don’t have to have a maid of honor at all. Unless everyone is in matching dresses except for the Maid/Matron of Honor, it’s really just a title.

@PrettyinPink45:  my sis is a Bridesmaid or Best Man but not my Maid/Matron of Honor. We arent that close. My Maid/Matron of Honor is my best friend who has been there my whole life. I have pics at my 3rd birthday party and sitting right next to me was my best friend. She will be right by my side at the wedding. My sister’s feelings were not hurt at all. My mom’s on the other hand…..but oh well. It’s my wedding and same goes for you!
