I’m gonna make this one short as far as explanation.
All of my bridemaids have ordered this dress: http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Short-Sleevess-Satin-Dress-with-Ruched-Waist-F14823_Bridal-Party-Bridesmaids-Dresses-Under-$100 in ballet.
My Maid/Matron of Honor went to order hers today and picked out a different dress, which I am fine with. She asked me first. However, I haven’t seen it in person. It’s this one: http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Short-Stretch-Satin-Dress-with-Sweetheart-Neckline-F15615
So here’s my question – will these go together? I don’t mind her having a different dress, I’m just worried that they may not all go together in person. I guess I am one of those controlling brides that is trying to not be controlling…does that make sense?? 😀
Has anyone had their Maid/Matron of Honor in a different dress? I am going to get her a big, blingy necklace also and she is going to wear glittery heels.

I think they will look fine together since they will be the same color. Don’t worry!

I definitely think they’ll go together!

I love both of them and I think they’ll look great! Pinning the purple one though… 🙂

@donna_saur: same material, similar length so it should be ok:)

They will look great together! I LOVE the ballet color.

They’re not really that different from each other. So I think they’ll be fine!! Stop stressing, tbh, I dont think people are really going to be concertating on the BM’s dresses once you walk in!

I’m going to be the voice of dissent and say I don’t like the one she picked out. Maybe it looks different on, but it kind of has a club feel to it and I’m not a fan, especially next to the flared skirts of the other dresses.

@donna_saur: You didn’t actually say, but is it safe to assume the Maid/Matron of Honor is going to wear the same color-ballet?
If the color is the same, it is fine to have 2 different styles in the same fabric.

These will be perfect togther. Its the same material and the same color so she wont really stand out that much she just doesnt have straps. I think the Maid/Matron of Honor should have a different dress than everyone else IMO, im not big on everything matching anyways but thats just me.

@jessicadarling: +1. I feel the exact same way. I think the second dress is very club-like (form fitting) as compared to the bridesmaid dresses (a-line). The looks are completely different and in my mind, not cohesive.

I agree with @jessicadarling: and @PeachSnapple:. and for the reason they both indicated.

Since it’s the same material I think it will be fine!

I am going to agree with @jessicadarling: ….I feel that the dress your bridesmaids are wearing yes is satin so its the same fabric, but what gets me is that they have more of a flare at the bottom while MOH’s would be an extreme slim fit. I would try to find a different dress that has a similar siloutte…maybe a one shoulder?
I am trying to find you a dress in satin with the same color, but I am having trouble finidng the ballet color all together?

@jessicadarling: ARGHHH! This is my fear! I intentionally chose somewhat conservative dresses since we are getting married in a chapel. My dress is similar to the one she picked, it’s a pleated bodice and sweetheart neckline and she knows this. Another reason why I chose what I did originally – I wanted my dress to be a different style.
@Brielle: see above, friends!!!
@SoonToBeMrsD921: It’s not in the color chart at the top, it’s on lower color chart.
