Mine is enhanced, 0.75 carat equivalent, 6mm. As far as I have read, it is very rare to go green, that was mainly old stock. Now, moissys appear white clear and only *slight* tint of warmth under overcast skies.

@NurseMarriedToAFarmer: Welcome to WeddingBee!

I don’t have an oval moissanite but I do have a 1.5(7.5mm) round unenhanced moissanite. I don’t really have a problem with color even though it’s over 1CT and unenhanced (higher than 1CT are said to show more color) but it is a softer white. You can kind of think of it of White vs Diamond White where White would be bright white and Diamond White has tiny hint of ivory in it but still looks white. You can see a video of it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMU6BhbUNT8

I would get what you want in moissy. At 1.5ct I still wouldn’t worry about the green/yellow tint. I just saw an unenhanced moissy 1.5 ct round the other day, and in normal indoor lighting it looks white and clear as anything. Only in cloudy outdoor lighting can you see the color a little more. But, it is very slight and looks great. I don’t have a pic, but just search all the moissy threads on here, or there are videos on youtube or betterthandiamond.

Moissanite&Co is a legit site to get your moissy from…. tons of Bees gets their moissys from there loose or otherwise

ETA: and Moissanite&Co are the only ones (aside from BetterThanDiamond) that offer enhanced moissanite , known as Amora Moissanite which gives it a much whiter appearance.

Do people question your stones, ladies?! Do people think they are diamonds? I am thinking about possibly getting a moissanite ring to wear to the gym/beach/pool. If I like it I may even take the stone and put it in my regular setting. I have a diamond and wouldn’t want to tell people it is a moissanite. Give me your thoughts! 🙂

@Fallicious1012: I’ve never had someone question my ring to my face, but my FI’s grandmother did call it a “diamond ring.” She’s older, and not American (slight language barrier), so I didn’t bother explaining that it’s not diamond just because it would have been 15 minute long conversation.

@NurseMarriedToAFarmer: Yes, MoissaniteCo has legitimate moissanite stones. Mine came with a warranty card from Charles & Colvard.

Anyway, here’s my ring. The center stone is 1 carat.

Thanks. Do you think it is passable as a diamond? If I do use the moissanite stone for my engagement ring I will use my diamond in a necklace. I want people to think it’s a diamond, haha. Not know it’s not a diamond and just not say anything to me!

Nobody has questioned my moissanite (well, at least, not to my face)! Also wanted to add that Fiance bought my ring from MoissCo and I have also purchased an eternity ring from them and have nothing but good things to say. Great service!

@Fallicious1012: I think it really depends on the person. Like, if it were me, I’d probably never know because I don’t know a whole lot about diamonds and their specific characteristics. But if someone does know a lot about them, they might be able to tell. But remember, no one is going to be inspecting your ring up-close and looking for certain characteristics to determine whether or not its diamond. I’ve seen another bee say somewhere that when people see a sparkly white stone on a woman’s ring finger, they’re going to assume it’s diamond 95% of the time. So I think you’re pretty safe if you want to go with moissy.

Edit: I’ll also add that everyone thought my ring was a diamond until I told them, so obviously I could have fooled them and they never would have known the difference.
