AlexandraG:

Have you yet read the “cheap moissanite from ebay” thread? Lots of great comparitive info found there and some of the inexpensive moissies from overseas are knocking people’s socks off.

AlexandraG:  moissaniteco.com is probably the most popular here. Schubach’s is well known too

I don’t have my ring yet, but I just ordered from Moissanite&co and have been really impressed with their service so far. I rrealized I made a mistake with the ring I ordered the next day. I emailed them and they responded that they amended my order with minutes of me emailing them!

My engagement ring is from Joseph Schubach Jewelers (bought online) and I can’t say enough lovely things about them. They’re moissanite is Charles Colvard and comes certified. With my fiance’s input, they designed a custom ring for me in moissanite (Oval center, two half-moon side stones and pave diamonds around the band.) Their customer service is amazing–so ready and willing to answer any questions and help out to get exactly what you want.

I’ve attached a picture here, if you’re interested 🙂

Believe it or not, mine is from JTV. But– I may have just gotten really lucky.

AlexandraG:  Forever Brilliant moissanite is near colorless. It has a lot of fire to it and some say slight yellow-ness. They’ve also just released the Forever One moissanite which is supposed to be colorless. I haven’t read much about it, but I’m sure there are a few posts around here about it. (I don’t have my ring yet, but I opted for the Forever Brilliant.)

Mine is a forever brilliant from moissanite.com.  It’s very sparkly and I’ve never seen it look yellow.  I did have a stone fall out and customer service was very helpful.  My boyfriend said they were also very helpful and prompt when he emailed questions while ring shopping. Despite my issue,  I highly recommend.

AlexandraG:  from the research I have done, forever brilliant can be a little warm/yellow, but mostly quite white as long as you don’t get a huge stone. Forever One is supposed to be completely colourless. There are a bunch of videos on you tube comparing them. And I will definitely post photos when I get mine! 🙂

AlexandraG:  Primarily cost. For me getting the colorless stone for more money wasn’t worth it. Personally, I don’t mind getting a stone that has a little bit character. I genuinely like moissanite. I’m not necessarily planning on passing my stone off as a diamond. That said, not all diamonds are perfect in color. It’s all about preference though.
