I think forever brilliant moissanite are closer to J coloured diamonds! I have a FB and it’s not by any means yellow, but it does show some warmth in low lighting, so if you want something that’s colourless I think you’d be happier with an F1 moissanite (although I haven’t seen one in person).

Moissanite is a great choice 🙂

I’ve seen moissanite in person and I have a diamond. My diamond is a 1 ct round in the I-J range and the moissanite was a 2 ct round in the G-H range so I don’t feel it’s fair to compare the two. I will say that I saw the moissanite a long time ago, when it first came out and JCPenney carried it, and I could see that hint of green people talk about. But with all the advances in how it’s produced I don’t think there’s much to worry about. I, personally, thought it was pretty even with the coloring.

There are times I look at my moissanite ring (1 ct center stone flanked by .25 ct side stones. Standard moissanite. Not enhanced in any manner) and see warmth. Most recently at a funeral home. To be fair the lighting there is supposed to make very white things look warmer and more golden. I have owned the ring for a few months and have had no questions about the stones. Zales, Helzberg and a local jewelry store have complimented me on my “beautiful diamonds” after checking the prongs and stones through a loupe before cleaning. My very wealthy, diamond-clad employer constantly remarks about how my diamonds sparkle so much and are so bright white that she’s taken to cleaning her own more often. I have friends who have diamonds that show more warmth than my unenhanced moissy.

I have both, it depends on the size and shape. I have a ~2.2ct oval moissanite. It looks really clear until you put it side-by-side with a D-F diamond, then it has an obvious color. It’s like how an ivory dress looks white until you put it next to a dress that’s actually white

Here is my f1 6.5mm h&a moissanite. It’s getting set in my setting right now. But here are pictures before the jeweler. I love it to death.

I just saw a round and square F1 today and ive seen a square FB in person.  I compared the F1 to a diamond and was  really impressed with the color. The F1 i looked at the jeweler confirmed that it was for sureF color and the scary part for him was it tested as a diamond. The FB i saw was closer to a J color and was really really yellow, but it might have just been that stone.  It was really neat to see these stone next to a diamomd also.

This has been argued to death on the Bee. There are a million threads about the slight differences between this diamond simulant and that diamond simulant… sigh.

alltheusernamesaretaken:  Well said! ‘Sigh’ to see that 1/4 of the posts (as I write this) don’t contribute to the topic just condem it.

Sorry I don’t have any advice as I decided to go for a pink sapphire but I hope you will post pictures after you decide! Love getting information about moissionite stones- especially not that you can get cuts other than FB!
