If you bought your ring at Moissanite Co and found left over adhesive? Because i sent my ring in a week ago and Im so anxious to find out if they cleaned off the adhesive once and for all…
Im so impatient and need to distract myself from looking at my naked finger 🙁

I’m curious– what do you mean by adhesive? I’ve never heard of this in regards to fine jewelry before. (cheap jewelry sometimes is glued together, but not when it comes to gemstones & precious metals)
anyway, I have a moissanite band and basically, any jeweler should treat it the same as a diamond band. as in, they can give it the same cleaning process, etc.

So when they cut the gem they use an adhesive to hold the stone in place (this is to the best of my understanding at least). And its seems rare but sometimes they do not do a good enough job cleaning the stone afterwards, so while at first the stone looks perfect, over time dirt and oils and grime will attach to the adhesive and the stone has almost like an oily look to it, there is a great picture on BTD for reference.
So after months of trying different methods(using toothpaste or rubbing alcohol with a soft bristled toothbrush) I finally gave up and sent it back to moissanite co so that they could take it off themselves, or at least thats the goal

wow, how shoddy of them! I’m surprised– I’ve looked at 2 moissaniteco rings in person and they were perfect, well made, and clean. I can’t believe they allowed that to pass inspection!
moissanite is really tough so it can withstand a vigorous cleaning, just like a diamond. I’m sure it will be fine.
you should make moissaniteco pay for the cleaning, it’s totally their fault!
