@mrsdjmk:  Schubach does custom work too.. Are you sure they can’t recreate what you’re looking for at MoCo? I’ve heard good and bad about them, but nothing but good about Schubach. I’m having my rose gold engagement ring made by them right now.. and you’re right, Beth is AMAZING. So is Joe himself, I worked directly with him after making about a bazillion changes through Beth.

I wouldn’t waste any more time with a company who isn’t acting like they want your business. Another awesome point for Schubach.. Like I said, I changed my mind about details in my ring a million times, and kept apologizing to Beth for being such a pain. Her response? “You’re not a pain! You’re buying a ring from us.. you deserve to have it exactly right”. I’ve never gone more than a few hours without a response from them, and I cannot wait to see the finished product.

I’m sorry this process hasn’t been easy for you! I hope you get the ring of your dreams when its all said and done

From what I understand, Schubach’s really shines with custom work.  Since what you’re asking for’s somewhat customized, you might be happiest going with them.

@mrsdjmk:  I can’t vouch for Schubach’s personally (but I have heard amazing things), but I did have a rather frustrating experince with MCO. I scoured their website and had officially decided on a ring I wanted to order, but had a question about shipping to Canada. I read and re-read the shipping info on their website and the question was not answered. So I emailed. And I emailed a second time. Finally, on the third email I received a response, and all it included was the link to the shipping section of their website, which I had already checked (and told them so in the email). Needless to say, we’ve gone another route because I wasn’t about to risk shipping something to another country if I wasn’t confident in the company I was dealing with. I know other bees have had fabulous experiences with MCO, but unfortunately I wasn’t one of them.

Instead of emailing have you tried directly chatting with them? My SO has been talking to them about my ordering my ring and if you do the direct chat they’ve apparently been accomodating and answer questions.

@mrsdjmk:  Ew! Gosh, their business practices are SO strange. “Let’s ignore this person until they get fed up enough to make a WB post, then let’s figure out exactly which customer it was that was e-mailing us and match them up to who they are on WB.” God that is so freaking creepy!!!!!!!!!!  It makes my skin crawl, honestly. They do weird stuff like that all the time on these boards; once the owner even posted billing/shipping info from a customer to “prove” that she wasn’t a fake person spamming the boards to gain favor for them.

I would go with Schubach’s. My first ring came from MoCo and fell apart after my proposal (19 days after). It was like pulling teeth trying to get responses from them when they had my e-ring for months. I ended up getting a refund from them and having a new ring custom made from Schubach’s. Customer service and quality wise, they are worlds apart.

I learned the hard way, “You get what you pay for.”

If money is already tight for you guys, either wait and save up to have something wonderful made at Schubach’s or try their lay-away or payment plans maybe. Buying something cheaper at MoCo honestly might not be cheaper in the long run if you factor in repairs and shipping it back and forth for repairs. If it’s a simple design without a lot of pave you’ll probably be fine… but with something more intricate I wouldn’t buy from them again. Not after all the heartache they caused!!!

I know this thread is older, but in the past week I have emailed MoCo about 5 times with questions about OEC and rose gold.  My responses from Chris have been patient and friendly, and though I probably could have eventually answered my own questions he didn’t make me feel like a moron (and I kinda was…lol).  I haven’t dealt with Schubach as they’re a bit pricey for me (I know custom work, will price match, etc.) and the styles I like are from MoCo.

Unfortunately when dealing with humans, we’re going to cross paths with negativity in Customer Service…shame I know.
