futuremrsmoore :  Thanks!

This is Tianyu’s storefront.  You can click “Contact Seller” from their main page, or from any individual ring listing if you see an inspiration ring you like.  Then you create an Alibaba account and someone gets in touch with you through the Alibaba chat feature and you just chat back and forth about what you are looking for.  They are Chinese and they aren’t always good at understanding what Americans are looking for, so be VERY specific with your requests.  The second link was my inspiration ring.

I just got my ring yesterday from a Chinese vendor (Mona, IG: moissy_diamond_jewelry) and I LOVE it! I was initially just going to order the stone but ended up having them make a custom ring with it and it definitely exceeded my expectations.

I messaged Mona through Instagram initially but we ended up talking over Whatsapp. She sent pictures and videos for me to check at every step (stone, CAD design, final product). It took 4 weeks from the first message to delivery. If you look through the Instagram and like what you see, I highly recommend working with Mona!

The stone is an 8.5x6mm crushed ice oval and it is set in 14k white gold.

I second the rec for August Vintage, their stones are gorgeous and optically diamond-like if that’s what you’re going for. We ordered the stone as well as the Stuller setting through their website… they have several designers available so you can pick your setting and AV will set it for you and ship it out. Customer service was super personalized and top notch.

futuremrsmoore :  the website on my phone won’t let me edit my post but I wanted to let you know- for the moment if you were considering Honest Solitaire (that company I mentioned from Canada) I wouldn’t. My boyfriend did end up ordering my ring from them about four weeks ago and he’s been having trouble getting a hold of them ever since. My own fault for going with a smaller company with fewer than 100 reviews I guess… here’s hoping that things work out for us, but with this new information in light I can no longer recommend them with a clear conscience.

futuremrsmoore :  Sapheena makes every ring after it’s ordered, so I can’t imagine she wouldn’t be able to make that setting or something very like it. She’s super responsive and reasonable, so if nothing else I would consider reaching out to her with a photo and just seeing what she has to say.
