Does anyone have a Moissanite engagement ring?? Due to price (and how beautiful they are) my boyfriend and I have decided to buy a Moissanite rather than a diamond. I’ve completely fallen in love with one style. How does a moissanite hold up over time? Does the forever brilliant stay shiny and new looking? Has anyone had experience with Manhattan Moissanite in NYC? Or where did you buy yours?

I don’t know much about mossanite, but if you search through the boards, there are tons of threads about mossanite engagement rings – I’m sure you can find some answers there!

I do not have mine yet but we ordered mine from Rosados box on Etsy. I asked for a style they had on Etsy but added some additions to make it a custom ring. They have been great! It takes about 4-6 weeks for them to make your ring. I should have mine around the first week of December.

I don’t have mine yet either, but I ordered a moissanite from Joseph Schubach and am having it set in a custom design done by David Klass, based on recommendations I found on this site. I love the look of diamonds but not the price, and spent a fair amount of time researching lab-created diamonds before coming across info that steered me toward moissanite. It’s its own gemstone, and my fiance and I both like that it is nearly as hard as a diamond (a “forever” stone if you will), that it’s eco-friendly and conflict free since it’s lab-created, and that the original stone was found on a meteor (yes we are nerds).
I love vintage designs and that’s what my ring will be based on, so I picked an Old European Cut for my center stone. I went with the Forever Brilliant since it’s supposed to be whiter than the classic. The rep from Schubach’s told me that the Forever One would be her recommendation for a round brilliant or other cut, but they don’t have that one in the OEC. TBH I don’t know what the difference is between Forever Brilliant and Forever One.
My stone arrived early this week, and I was glad I got to see it in person before David creates my ring with it. It’s very pretty, sparkly (I hear a lot that moissanites have more fire than diamonds but to me it looked a lot like a diamond – maybe once it’s set and in different lighting I’ll be able to tell the difference).
If you read some threads on here about moissanite you should be able to find out whatever you need to know- there are some seriously knowledgeable bees on this topic! Best of luck and congrats!

I’ve had my fb moissy for 2 yrs and I had a classic moissy ring for a year. My fb developed a oil slick stain after a year. It’s supposedly easy to remove with some silver polish but, I have yet to find the particular polish in stores locally, so I have to order online. The warrenty does not cover this oil slick. My forever classic never developed this film.

I’ve had a Forever Brilliant moissy from MoissaniteCo.com for nearly a year now. It only gets dull when it needs to be cleaned, and even then a quick soak in a cup of warm water and dish soap does the trick. Overhead indoor lighting makes it sparkle like mad and I still get awe-struck by it. Since I’ve still only had it for less than a year, I can’t really speak to the longevity. It is fairly moody, so we may trade it in eventually for the Forever One moissy.

My fiancee used Joseph Schubach as well! They custom designed it together.
I love, love, love my ring. I’ve only worn it for about a year now, but it’s just as sparkly as it was. When I got it resized (just 1/4 a size too big–but my fiancee guessed pretty well), my very experienced jeweler told me that my stones tested as diamonds all the way until he heated them up and they changed the color that moissanites do. He works with diamonds on a daily basis and couldn’t tell that my Moissys weren’t diamonds.
Moissy definitely has some more fire than diamonds. I recently inherited one of my grandmother’s diamond rings, and I wear them both daily in all different lightings. My moissy engagement ring lets off more fire, but that’s one of the reasons why I love it.

What polish did you use? I also have some oil slick issues (though it’s not a big deal in my mind–you can’t see it unless if you reallllllly look, but I would like to fix it)

As a PP said, there are a TON of moissy threads for you to get more info and see more pictures. 🙂 I’ve had my FB moissy e-ring since April, and it’s held up well so far. I love the warmth and the intense sparkle. My Fiance purchased my wedding set from MoissaniteCo.com.

I went through months of back and forth due to fear of getting anything other than a diamond but after months and months of researxh (plus alot of help fromantic this site) I finally decided on a F1 moissy over a diamond. I was even able to find a local jeweler who carried moissy so I could see it in person (and even side by side with a loose diamond) my boyfriend had no idea what moissanite was before my long lectures, but after seeing them side by side it was a no brainer to him as well (especially after the jeweler mentioned a diamond of the same color quality (d,e,for color) would easily cost 10x’s the price) you can order lose stones from moissaniteco where you can see it in person before making a decision and if you like that particular stone they will set it in one of their settings. so far I’m very happy with their customer service just through various questions I’ve bombarded them with. 🙂 hope this helps!

I just got my F1 Moissanite and I am so glad I picked it. This stone is absolutely gorgeous and I’ve already had so many compliments on it. I highly recommend Moissanite. I got mine from the etsy shop Love Forever Jewelry.
