Well, I have a moissy and also have a stand in CZ ring and a diamond RHR… And I think that the moissy is cut differently from both… I think the CZ cut is actually more similar to a diamond, but it is way too white and looks kind shallow. However, moissy is not all cut the same… I have heard that there is actually a surprisingly big range in the moissanite cut by C&C so that may explain why you have seen some that look more like a diamond cut pattern.

Moissanite has much different faceting than diamond. CZ really can vary in quality and so some will have different faceting whereas high quality cz (wink or asha) will look very similar to a diamond.

Moissanite is cut differently to maximize the double refraction sparkles and minimize the color. A goof CZ should be cut exactly like a diamond.

@mrsztobee:  Diamond and CZ should be cut the same. CZ has similar optical properties to Diamond so the same cut is best for both. Moissanite is a silicone Based gem not carbon based so different angles are best for it, therby a different cut.

Just like in school where the angle of incidence equals the angle of reflection for total internal reflection you don’t want light leakage from a gemstone.

MoissyCo has a good return policy, why dont you order a loose stone and take a look at it in person? If you can you could order a couple of stones in different sizes and se what fits your hand best…
