@PixelMePretty:  I have some moissanite set into antique reproduction settings in non-plated white gold. But nothing from MoissCo.

@PixelMePretty:  I had a nice long response typed up, and then this site went down for several minutes. Grrrr… In sum, I love my antique rings. They have lots of character. Great contrast to my modern solitaire e-ring. But if you choose to get a repro made, make sure it’ll be thick enough. Jewelers make molds from originals that have decades of wear to the gold, which makes them thin from the beginning, let alone after they’ve been re-cast.

I’ve uploaded a bunch of photos of my antique repros here. There are some rose cut moissanites, one celestial cut (I forgot which ring), and a bunch of regular round brilliant. None are enhanced.

@PixelMePretty:  My guess is that they don’t make their rings from molds, that they just emulate the styles from another ring themselves. So I’m sure you’ll be fine if you go through MoissCo. Just inquire about the width of the shaft etc. I know lots of women here prefer very delicate rings, but the thinner the band, the higher the breakage risk. My e-ring is about 2 mm wide and perhaps 1 mm or so thick. I think that’s pretty good. Even 2.5 or 3mm wide would’ve been good for my taste. But I wouldn’t go much thinner than 2 mm wide for longevity for an everyday wear ring.

The MoissaniteCo web page has some real life pictures of some of their rings.
