If you like some warmth, then go unenhanced! You’ll save money, plus have a little warmth and character.

If you want character, unenhanced is the way to go!

Snce you want a 1.5-2 ct stone I would suggest an enhancement. I heard that the Amora is currently out of stock and might not even come back, so I guess you would have to go with Forever Brilliant. Never seen it in person though…but I have seen an Amora and an unehanced inreal life, and the enhancement makes a big difference inmy opinion.

For that size I’d stick with an enhancement, as it only makes it “less” yellow/tinged, it will still have plenty of character, it will still have depth and warmth.

I don’t have any photos on here yet but I have a .66 untreated stone in a necklace and a .75 amora Moissanite in my ering. Both stones look white most of the time but under certain lighting they do have a slight yellow tint, however it is more noticeable in the untreated stone for sure. If you are going over 1 carat then I would opt for the treated version or you will be getting an I or J coloured stone.

Even though they both look white (like a diamond) they have so many neat characteristics that are different than a diamond which is why I love my moissy. They sometimes reflect colour if they are held close to something (like a pink shirt) and the rainbow sparkle is gorgeous!

I will try to post my photos later today to show you mine 🙂

I went with unenhanced for a few reasons.

First, I love color. I love diamonds on the low, warm, buttery end of the color spectrum. So while my unenhanced looks warm in certain light, it definitely shifts into a bright white often. Never green (though it sometimes looks steely). It’s moody and I love that.

Second I’m not big on enhancements for stones. Lab created is fine with me, but as close to unaltered as possible is how I like my gems. No dyes, no filling, whitening, clarity enhancement, heating, coating. I’m just not worried about having a perfect looking rock that was made to look perfect, if it’s already perfect as is I won’t mess with it.

Last, with the size I chose at 1.25ct I actually came to find that the Amora treatment probably wouldn’t have made much difference. It’s got an amazing luster to it.

This is my unenhanced stone from moissanite.com. This was taken inside surrounded by yellow and it’s still stunningly clear.

I have a C&C Forever Brilliant 2ct round. Face up and in natural light it is very clear, in dim lighting and depending on what I’m wearing it may pick up a very subtle green, gray, or yellow but it’s super faint and I am very critical of it. I am thrilled with my stone. I would suggest some kind of enhancement since you’re going over 1ct, they also say rounds are by nature whiter than any other cut face up because of the way they throw light. Here’s mine,

the only thing I’m afraid of about moissanite coloring is a green tint. I wouldn’t mind a yellow tint, but green… so I went with the amora enhancement (it was called “mira” back then!), and I’ve never seen any color in mine. not even a bit of yellow!! it’s so sparkly, I really love it. 🙂

Here is my FB Charles and Colvard Moissy. It measures 6mm X 6mm ( equivalent to a 1.1 carat ) It shines bright white and the faucets are dimensional and crisp.

I purchased mine off of Etsy through SundariGems.

Could not be happier!
