Does anyone have one? Did you get it enhanced/Mira or leave it unenhanced?
I am looking at a 2ct moissy in rose gold. I know that moissanite tends to reflect the color of the setting, so most likely it will take on a pinkish hue in some lighting anyway. Do you think upgrading to a Mira is necessary in this case?

I have an enhanced 1.5ct moissy in 18k yellow gold! 🙂 The stone looks very white! The prongs on my ring are platinum though, so you could always do two-tone like that!
Here is a video too

Mine is in 14k yellow gold with platinum prongs. I have a 1.25 carat enhanced stone and I think it looks really white!

Your rings are gorgeous, ladies!!!
Does anyone have an unenhanced?
I’m basically trying to find out if spending an extra $360 on a Mira is necessary.

I wouldn’t bother with a Mira personally, especially if it means another $400. For one thing, moissanite is highly reflective of its environment. So even if it is inherently whiter you probably won’t notice the difference once it’s set. (Yes, I’m still looking for a fair, side by side comparison of a Mira and a similar sized non-Mira in the same exact setting.) Thus I agree with going with platinum or white gold prongs. I think that that would make a bigger difference in the color you see. And that’s how the jeweler we got my ring from “enhances” the moissanite he works with. He said something about the alloy of gold he uses makes the stone look a lot whiter than it is, and I’d agree with him. Mine always looks white to me unless it’s picking up other colors from the environment. It’s all about the setting!

I went the opposite of @DeathByDesign:
–my moissanite is unenhanced and the ring is palladium but the bezel is yellow gold. They sent a pretty warm colored stone at my request. It’s a 7 mm cushion cut–it’s about 1.8 ct equivalent and most people get moissanite enhanced at that size. I decided to get the bezel in yellow gold so that the gorgeous warm color of the moissanite is highlighted by the yellow gold instead of looking dingy next to the white palladium.
What you feel is worth it is up to you–do you want a super white stone or not? I love the color and fire and warmth of my unenhanced moissanite but it’s not for everyone. I should have pics soon–it’s still being made so maybe in a week or so. ARGH.

I need to take a picture of my Mira we just got yesterday! I though it was worth it! Im not supposed to see it again until SO gives it to me in the setting!

Mine is unenhanced in yellow gold. I love it, but it does sometimes seem a bit warm. I like it though.
sorry my photos of it kind of suck. They really don’t do it justice!
