msrobinsparkles :  To me seems like it depends 100% on the individual stone. Some pick up some colors that others do not. I would start to look into the exact moissy you want first.

My moissy is in a rose gold setting and I definitely don’t think it picks up any color from it 🙂 Plus I like that it makes the stone stand out. And it definitely doesn’t detract from the sparkle! I imagine a yellow gold ring would be much the same 🙂

My set is yellow gold and I love it. I notice that the metal does lend a tiny bit of warmth to my stone but in some lightings I don’t really see any warmth at all. My stone is colorless so even a tiny reflection of the gold prongs will be noticeable… but I love the buttery warm glow it gives, so not a big deal for me. I also love the contrast of the white stone to the colored metal.

This one is set in a two tone setting made by MoCo.  I think it was about an extra $50 or so for the custom two tone.

I have my moissy set in 14ct and it doesnt really pick up warmth. I wish it did, because I love warm stones. I even have darker skin and the stone is still very bright and white, in my opinion.

OMG! What a tough decision! I thought I would open this thread and say something useful, but I can’t. They all look good!

msrobinsparkles :  I think the gold colour has more to do with your personal preferences/skin tones (ie do you have warm or cool undertones that makes yellow or white gold more complimentary). The only thing I would consider with the stone is if it was low on the colour scale it might be “warmer” and go better with yellow gold.

I was concerned about my moissanite looking yellow so I went for a two-tone setting. I love it! But when I see bee’s with gold prongs, especially on older cut stones, I can’t help but wonder if I would’ve like that too. I am sure I would’ve but I am very happy with the two-tone. It makes the stones look like they’re floating
