I just bought a 7mm Forever Brilliant to go in a custom ring. Would you say it sparkles better than Amora? all the pics and vids ive seen the amoras look more colourless but don’t seem to sparkle well. Thoughts?

Tommo1985:  I personally haven’t seen the Amora in person, but I’ve heard mixed reviews.  Some say it’s absolutely gorgeous, especially since it can give you a nice, white color in a larger stone (moissys tend to show more color the larger they get).  Others have said it gives off a “milky” look.  I have a 6mm FB round that I absolutely love, however since my stone is on the “smaller” side, I haven’t had any issues with it looking yellow.

Hi all, I just got my very first moissanite ring today, so excited!! I purchased it from moissaniteco.com as my third anniversary gift.  The center stone is 0.65cm. Here are the pictures in different lightings. I love the sparkles! And I absolutely love how it shows many colors under sun light, blue, purple, orange, green, yellow…it’s so beautiful! All the stones are unenhanced.  I was thinking about getting a FB or even Amora gem, but after some research I think that I may find them too white.  Since I love the colors so much I decided to go with unenhanced stones.  I checked other companies’ websites but they don’t have the setting I liked. I was nervous before I purcased at moissaniteco.com because I had seen a few not-so-good reviews from the company. So I contacted their customer service before purchase, then decided to give it a try.  I put a note with the order, requesting them to hand pick my stones to certain standards (cut, color, clarity). And I’m happy with the result.  Hubby loves it too.

This is my brand new (as of 5 days ago) e-ring! It’s 14k gold with a 5.5mm FB cushion moissy. The setting has diamonds up the sides 🙂

longtimenosee:  I absolutely love your ring and just sent my boyfriend your photos! We started diamond shopping last weekend and were disappointed by the big price tags…but after I found out about moissy rings and seen all these beautiful pictures tonight I am convinced this is the best way to go! I would love to know the specs of your ring if you wouldn’t mind sharing!

rebeccafrank:  Thanks Rebecca! I love my ring so much, so does my husband. Diamond’s price is inflating since it’s getting more and more popular in Asia (DeBeer’s marketing is working:) More demand means higher price tag haha. All stones on my ring are unenhanced (regular) Charles and Colvard moissanites.  I requested moissaniteco.com to hand pick stones that are close to Excellent cut,  H color, and VVIS clearity.  This is the as good as an unenhanced moissanite stone can get.  If you want to go with whiter stones, you have to get enhanced stones, which are Forever [email protected] Charles and Colvard or Aroma Gem (can be found at betterthandiamond.com).  They both have non-coated treatment so you don’t need ot worry about losing the shine over time.  Aroma Gem is the newest creation and the most expensive one too.  I like the quality of my stones and think they are white enough..and I think Forever Brilliant or Aroma Gem is probably going to be too white.  But this is just my personal preference. You can google these stones and see the differences.  I agree with other people that for stones smaller than 1 ct, unenhanced is good enough if quality is good.

I did tons of research before buying my ring online, and I’m very happy about it.  Hope you’ll find a ring you love too!!

This is the thread that convinced me moissanite was the way to go. So I thought I would contribute my new engagement ring! I love it so much. It is so sparkly and I only notice a bit of yellow on cloudy days. Otherwise it is completely white. The ring is from Moissanite Co. Center stone is 2 carat (8mm) FB round in cushion shaped halo with tiny moissanite stones. LOVE IT!
