I would vote for moissanite because of its durability and more classic look. And maybe get a morganite RHR in the future! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m sure you’ve already looked around quite a bit, but there are a LOT of sellers on Etsy who sell moissanite rings. You may be able to find something in your price range with some additional “bells and whistles” – there are 1ct equivalent round moissanites with a diamond halo and plain band (or even pave band) available for well under $1000.

Both stones are lovely. Have you considered mixing the two together, and doing a rose gold setting with a moissanite center stone?

coquelicot :  Rose gold is beautiful!

Personally, I would go for the classic solitaire. I know it may not be as exciting, but it’s timeless. While morganites is very pretty, i feel moissanite will hold up to everyday wear better. Especially considering you said you’re rough on stuff.

I have a rose gold morganite ring that I wear as a RHR. I honestly could not wear it every day. It’s pretty but I like to match my clothing to my accessories ๐Ÿ™‚

LOL, if you truly can’t decide, let your man decide. I was a bit paralyzed by selecting a center stone shape and showed him the two I was debating between and he chose. And I am soooo thrilled with the choice and that he had a part of the choosing.

I, personally, would choose Moissy for an e-ring.

I’m biased. I love my moissy ring, so I voted for the moissy option. ๐Ÿ™‚

I personally have a moissy ring with a pave band that I love (see picture). Another bee on here has the same ring but in rose gold…so the moissy/rose gold/pave combo is also an option!

Alternatively, I love the timelessness of solitaires paired with fancier bands. I had a hard time making this decision as well. If you go with the solitaire, you could always pair it with an eternity or half-eternity band (or something even fancier).

coquelicot :  Moissanite 100%. I had a morganite RHR. It started out pretty and pink. But it gets dirty. So. Easily. When it’s dirty, it looks oily and grey. So you clean it! Five minutes later, it’s dirty again. No sparkle or shimmer. It was awful. I couldn’t even stand it as a RHR. It’d be a nightmare as a forever ring. Btw, I got the morganite from a reputable jeweler.

Classic solitaire! You can pair it with a gorg rose gold/pink diamond or sapphire band like this to get some of the pinks in ๐Ÿ™‚

I have both and my vote is for moissanite because it is a forever stone that will endure daily wear and needs less cleaning.  Morganite has an amazing color, but having to baby and clean it so much was a deal breaker for me as an engagement ring.
